Jane Durango is a Red Seal Journeyman Carpenter, born and raised in Calgary. Jane's interest in creating things with wood started when she was young, helping her dad and grandpa. In 1994, she started working with her mentor John and, through her apprenticeship, she realized that she would love the challenge of running a home building and renovation company. It was a natural progression to Durango Developments in 1998 after John decided to retire. Jane thrives on planning and problem solving, then creating beautiful and productive spaces from raw materials.
Her company's goal is to build functional and durable homes and spaces, with timeless classic designs to improve livability and to reduce the unnecessary waste of natural resources. She believes that the redevelopment of the inner city with infill housing and secondary suites will help vitalize established communities and improve affordability which will also help reduce Calgary's urban sprawl.
When not building, Jane is usually walking her dogs in Edworthy Park or exploring the undersea environment scuba diving.
